The police had told the court that on June 15, 2005, one Mohammad Amin Khan had visited the Air Cargo office here to get a consignment sent by Sheikh from Jeddah. The consignment was sent through the cargo of Saudi Airlines flight on June 8, 2005 and on examination, it was found that it contained small wooden box, 40 wireless handsets, one satellite phone, 60 antennas of various frequencies, one belt with an electric device filled inside 6 sets of headphones. The police said the consignment was to be delivered at Srinagar and during the probe, it was found that the consignment was sent for the purpose of terrorism in India. It said Khan and another accused Obaid-Ul-Ahad were arrested and during interrogation, they said they were members of 'Al-Badr' and the consignment was sent by Sheikh at the direction an area commander of the organisation. A chargesheet was filed against accused Obaid-ul-Ahad and Khan, the police said adding Khan was convicted while accused Obaid-ul-Ahad was acquitted by a court in February 2010. Sheikh could not be arrested at that time and on May 8, 2010 he was deported from Saudi Arabia and was arrested in connection with the case, the police had said. During the trial, Sheikh admitted he was deported but because his passport was not renewed by the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia as one complaint was sent to the Embassy by the special cell. He further told the court that he was being implicated in this case. The court, however, after going through evidence produced by the police, acquitted Sheikh saying "I am of the considered opinion that the prosecution has failed to bring home the guilt of the accused for the offence punishable under Section 40 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 beyond the shadow of all reasonable doubts."
