Meanwhile, a prominent state Congress leader Jagrup Singh Takhtpura today resigned from his party and joined Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). He joined the party in the presence of Sukhbir Singh Badal, who welcomed him into the party fold and claimed that SAD would inflict a crushing defeat to Congress in the upcoming Moga bypolls.
