Egypt's interim government says clashes between police and supporters of ousted president Moahmmed Morsi killed 888 people in four days in the country.
It says yesterday's clashes killed 79 people.
The government tally, released today and carried by Egypt's official MENA news agency, brings death toll of four days of violence in the country to 888 people killed.
The clashes started Wednesday when security forces backed by armored vehicles, bulldozers and snipers swept through two main encampments of supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi in Cairo. The 12-hour street battle sparked violence nationwide for days.
Morsi was forced out of power by the military on July 3 after millions took to the streets to demand he step down.
