Republic day: Security tightened in C'garh

Armed guards have been posted at all the important government establishments in the state, police said.

Preparation for the Republic Day function to be held at the Police Parade ground in the state capital is complete, a government official said.

Governor Shekhar Dutt will hoist the national flag in the morning and he will receive the guard of honour by different units of police jawans.

March past will be presented by Chhattisgarh police, CAF, CISF, Home Guard, NSS,NCC and scout guide cadets on the occasion and the tableaus depicting recent developments and upcoming schemes would be taken out in a parade.

Chief Minister Raman Singh will unfold tricolour at Jagdalpur district headquarter, while Assembly Speaker Dharamlal Kaushik will do so at Bilaspur.

Besides, other ministers and parliamentary secretaries will take part in Republic day celebrations to be held at different places in the state.

Foot patrolling and mobile patrolling units would also be in place tonight while hotels and guest houses have also being checked to ensure that no anti-social activities take place, police said.
