Reshuffle in IPS cadre in West Bengal

In a major reshuffle of the IPS cadre in West Bengal, 17 senior officials were today either promoted or transferred, according to state secretariat sources.
IGP (Administration) Sanjoy Mukherjee has been promoted to the rank of ADG (Establishment), while Commissioner of Police, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, Rajeev Kumar has been promoted to the ADG rank from the existing IGP rank.
Commissioner of Police, Howrah Police Commissionerate, Ajey Mukund Ranade, who was in the rank of DIG, has been promoted to the rank of IGP, while DIG Jalpaiguri Range Jawed Shamim has been transferred with promotion as IGP North Bengal, the sources said.
DIG, IPS cell, R Sivakumar has been promoted as IGP, IPS Cell, while DIG (Operations) CIF promoted to the rank of IGP in the same posting.
DIG, Arm Police, EFR Bashab Kumar Talukdar has been promoted as IGP Telecommunication.
IGP (Enforcement Branch) Jayanta Kumar Basu has been transferred as IGP (Training), while IGP North Bengal Sashi Kant Pujari has been transferred as IGP Intelligence Branch.
DIG Traffic Kalyan Kumar Mallick has been transferred as DIG Intelligence Branch, while DIG Training Satyajit Bandyopadhyay has been transferred as DIG Malda Range replacing Chelling Simick Lepcha, who has been transferred as DIG Jalpaiguri Range, the sources said.
