Meghalaya CID has sealed the residence of the elusive Chancellor of CMJ University Chandra Mohan Jha here, officials said today.
Two of his personal vehicles were also seized from the posh 'Swasti Niwas' compound.

While four officials, including Registrar Mrinal Kanti Deb and his deputy Premlal Rai, were arrested for alleged fraud, two of the campuses of the varsity have been sealed.
Earlier, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has appointed Tezpur University Vice Chancellor Mihir K Chaudhury as chairman of a nine-member committee to probe the functioning of the university.
Established in 2009, the CMJ University has allegedly awarded a record number of 434 PhD degrees in the past one year apart from registering 490 more PhD scholars during the same year.
