Residents protest power cuts, block national highway

Angry over erratic power supply, residents of Dadri here held a protest on the national highway number 91 today, leading to blockade of traffic for a few hours.
The protesters, mostly women, reached Dhoom Manikpur power sub-station and blocked the highway, resulting in long queues of vehicles, officials said.
They alleged that there was no power supply in Nai Basti area for past few days.
The blockade, however, was lifted as soon after receiving the information, district officials reached the spot and pacified the protesters, assuring them of adequate action in this regard.
