"I wanted to meet the Chancellor, but his PA told me that Tripathi would call me later on,", the Vice-chancellor told reporters here.
"I am waiting for the call", he said adding that he was receiving thousands of messages of Kalyani citizens requesting him not to resign.
He also said a group of students residing in university hostel had complained to him that they had been intimated by a some outsiders who wanted him to resign.
Hangloo had faxed his resignation to the Chancellor on October 1 after a night-long gherao by students protesting against tution fee hike. The governor, however, did not accept his resignation.
Hangloo sent his resignation to the Governor for the second time on Monday even as varsity authorities decided to revoke the fee hike decision.
