Resolution of women's complaints declines in Meerut

The number of complaints resolved under 1090 Women's Helpline has gone down in this district in 2015, a state government report revealed.
As many as 2,906 complaints were lodged with the helpline in 2015 of which 2,748 have been resolved, District Chief Development Officer Navneet Singh Chahal said quoting a government report today.
While 3,808 complaints were filed in 2014 out of which 3,806 got resolved, in 2013, only one complaint was not resolved out of 3,501 filed in the year, he said.
In November last year, 251 complaints were filed with the helpline out of which only 93 have been resolved till date, Chahal said.
The Uttar Pradesh government had launched the 24-hour women helpline in order to curb crime against women and provide them immediate help in case of emergency, the Chief Development Officer said.
