A retired Defence Ministry official and his family were allegedly beaten up with rods and hockey sticks by their neighbours during an argument over car parking in south Delhi.
A case has been registered against the accused who are yet to be arrested, the police said today.
It was revealed during initial investigations that the two families used to have frequent tiffs over parking which snowballed into a major altercation yesterday, they said.
As per the complaint lodged with the police, Pooranchand Goswami (65), who retired as a section officer with the Defence Ministry, and his son Manoj were standing outside their house when their neighbour Keshav arrived in his car and parked it right in front of their house.
"When he and his son objected to it, Keshav allegedly abused them. Soon, other members of Keshav's family including his mother and uncle joined in and attacked them with iron rods and hockey sticks," a police official said.
According to the complaint, Keshav and his family also called in some local goons who also thrashed them, he added.
