A retired official was today sentenced by a court to two years rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 5,000 for accepting a bribe.
On April 30, 2009, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught deputy executive engineer M A Rasheed red-handed at the Municipality office in Ramagundam in neighbouring Peddapalli district, while receiving a bribe of Rs.10,000 from G.Rajanikanth for showing official favours.
Special judge P Bhaskar Rao also convicted him for two years and to pay a fine of Rs.5000 for demanding bribe.
Both the sentences shall run concurrently, the judge said.
