A 62-year-old retired banker is walking from Srinagar to Kanyakumari, approximately 3,600 kilometers, to spread the message of peace.
Vidyadhar Bhuskute has already completed the first phase of the journey, covering 840 km between Srinagar to New Delhi in 28 days.
He walks approximately 35 to 40 km per day to spread his message of peace. "We as a nation will progress much faster and can achieve the India 2020 dream if peace prevails in the entire country," Bhuskute says, adding that he is deeply upset by the ceasefire violations by Pakistan.
He believes that his walk can spread positive energy on both sides of the border and peace will prevail.
He will continue with his journey to Kanyakumari on December 10 and intends to complete it by April 15, 2014. During the journey, he would be passing through Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
