Revenue officer, his aide held for taking bribe from farmer

A revenue department official and one more person were arrested today while they were allegedly accepting Rs 1 lakh bribe from a farmer in Mhow near here, Lokayukta police said.
Patwari Kamal Visi (42) posted at Chordiya village in Mhow and his aide Rajkumar (25) were caught while they were taking Rs 1 lakh as bribe from farmer Bhagwan Patel (50), Lokayukta police DSP D S Gurjar said.
Patel had applied for measurement of his land in Chordiya village with the tehsil office but Visi demanded Rs 1.80 lakh for the work, he said.
Patel had paid the first instalment of Rs 80,000 to Visi, but later lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta police.
A trap was laid and the duo were nabbed today, Gurjar said.
Visi and Rajkumar have been booked under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigations were on, he added.
