Revenue officials among four booked for fraudulent allotments

Jammu and Kashmir's Crime Branch today booked several people including revenue officials for fraudulent allotment of evacuee property land to a non-existent person in Jammu.
Crime Branch (CB), Jammu today registered a case against Ajit Singh Jasrotia (former Tehsildar), Sat Pal Sharma (former Naib Tehsildar), Satish Sharma, Raj Kumar and other officials of the Revenue and Custodian department for forging and fabricating revenue records and allotting evacuee property land to a non-existent person, a CB spokesman said.
CB was acting on a complaint lodged by the Custodian, Evacuee Property, Jammu which alleged that evacuee property land at Chak Nanak village, Samba has been illegally allotted, he said.
An inquiry into the matter found that the accused, in connivance with officials of the Custodian and Revenue department, had forged documents for pecuniary gains the spokesman said.
