"The political process started more than a decade back is shrinking and as such losing its efficacy. The leadership cannot afford to put the political issues on the back burner," CPI(M) state committee secretary M Y Tarigami said at a meeting with the Prime Minister here.
He called for seizing the latest opportunities and carry forward the stalled Indo-Pak dialogue regarding improvement in the relations, people to people contact, cross LoC trade and relaxation in visa regulations.
He also demanded handing over of some J-K based power projects to the state as a special case so that the energy crisis detrimental to the development of the state could be overcome.
Tarigami also asked for the absorption of J-K youths in various public and private sectors across the country.
The CPI(M) leader expressed his concern over governance and said vast improvement is required to make it effective, transparent and accountable.
