The need-based workers of Rajouri Development Authority (RDA), who were terminated from their services last month, today staged a dharna outside the office of Deputy Commissioner in Rajouri district and demanded revocation of the order.
The 85 workers, who were appointed on need basis in the RDA in 2006, alleged that the state government was trying to ruin their future.
"The state government because of its weak policies was trying to spoil our future. They have given a big jolt to our families," said one of the agitating workers.
"The order for terminating employees is highly unfortunate and is laced with political interests," he added.
BJP state vice president, Vibodh Gupta, who was also present on the occasion, castigated government for its "anti-public" policies and said that decision to terminate need base workers has ruined carrier of many.
"At the time of their placement, these workers were under the employment age limit, but now they have turned overage and cannot even apply for any government position," he added.
