Rice basmati declines on higher supply

Prices of rice basmati eased by Rs 100 per quintal at local wholesale market today owing to slackened demand against adequate stocks on higher supplies from producing belts.
However, other grains moved in a tight range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders said sufficient stocks position following higher supplies from producing belts mainly kept pressure on rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,300-5,900 and Rs 4,500-5,500 per quintal respectively.

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal Rs 10,000, Super Basmati Rice Rs 9,500, Basmati common new Rs 5,300-5,900, Rice Pusa (1121) RS 4,500-5,500, Permal raw Rs 1,700-1,775, Permal wand Rs 1,850-1,900, Sela Rs 2,350-2,400 and Rice IR-8 Rs 1,575-1,600, Bajra Rs 1,150-1,155, Jowar yellow Rs 1,490-1,500, white Rs 2,550-2,650, Maize Rs 1,420-1,425, Barley Rs 1,575-1,580.
