Rice basmati ends higher on increased buying

Rice basmati ended higher at the wholesale grains market today on increased buying by stockists to meet rising demand.
Non-basmati rice also moved up in line with a firming trend in rice basmati.
Traders said besides increased stockists buying, fall in arrivals from producing belts led to the rise in rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, rice basmati Pusa-1121 variety shot up to Rs 8,000-10,000 from previous level of Rs 7,600-10,000 per quintal.
Non-basmati rice permal raw, wand, sela and Ir-8 also ended higher at Rs 2,125-2,175, Rs 2,225-2,325, Rs 2,750-2,800 and Rs 1,925-1,975 as compared to previous levels of Rs 2,100-2,150, Rs 2,200-2,300, Rs 2,700-2,800 and Rs 1,900-1,950 per quintal respectively.

Wheat MP (deshi) 2,245-2,445, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,575-1,580, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,580-1,585, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 810- 820 (50 kg), Maida 910-920 (50 kg) and Sooji 990-1,010 (50 kg).
Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice 9,500, Basmati common new 9,300-10,000, Rice Pusa- (1121) new 8,000-10,000, Permal raw 2,125-2,175, Permal wand 2,225-2,325, Sela 2,750-2,800 and Rice IR-8 1,925-1,975,Bajra 1,235-1,240, Jowar yellow 1,400-1,420, white 2,325-2,525, Maize 1,205-1,210, Barley 1,590-1,600.
