However, wheat slipped on ample stocks against reduced offtake by flour mills.
Traders attributed the rise in rice basmati and a few other bold grain prices to upsurge in demand.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa 1121 variety moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,800-5,000 and Rs 3,900-4,700 per quintal respectively. Non-basmati rice Sela and IR-8 also up by Rs 100 and Rs 50 to Rs 2,800-2,900 and Rs 1,850-1,860 per quintal respectively.
Bajra too went up by Rs 20 to Rs 1,330-1,335 per quintal.

On the other hand, wheat dara (for mills) fell by Rs 15 to Rs 1,800-1,805 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and eased by a similar margin to Rs 1,805-1,810 per 90 kg. Atta flour mills, maida and sooji settled lower at Rs 950-960, Rs 1,050-1,060 and Rs 1,080-1,090 per 50 kg as compared to previous levels of Rs 960-970, Rs 1,070-1,080 and Rs 1,100-1,110 (50 kg).
