Marketmen said stockists and flour mills buying against restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly led to rise in rice basmati and wheat prices.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 ended higher at Rs 8,900-9,200 and Rs 8,300-8,900 against last close of Rs 8,700-8,900 and Rs 8,000-8,500 per quintal, respectively.
Wheat dara (for mills) also rose by Rs 10 to Rs 1,660-1,665 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by the same margin to Rs 1,665-1,670 per 90 kg.
