Traders said uptick in demand from retailers mainly helped rice basmati prices to trade higher.
They said increased offtake by flour mills led to rise in wheat prices.
In the national capital, rice basmati rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety settled higher at Rs 8,300-8,400 and Rs 6,700-7,800 from Rs 8,200-8,300 and Rs 6,600-7,800 per quintal respectively.
Wheat dara (for mills) also went up by Rs 15 to Rs 1,735-1,740 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by Rs 10 to Rs 1,740-1,745 per 90 kg.
