Rich tributes paid to army jawan killed in J-K

Rich tributes were today paid to an army jawan who laid down his life while combating infiltration along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
Bablu Singh of 18 Jat Regiment was killed yesterday.
"He selflessly sacrificed his life in the highest traditions of the Indian Army. Paying rich tributes to the brave soldier. Army stands for any help within the law to your family," Lieutenant General Shokin Chauhan, General Officer Commanding Strike 1, said.
Chauhan laid a wreath and paid his respects. He offered his condolences to the bereaved family.
A large crowd comprising district-level officers were present at the Helipad ground to receive the brave soldier's body this evening.
"With his sacrifice, he has given proud moments to country especially to Mathura," Senior Superintendent of Police Babloo Kumar said after laying the wreath along with District Magistrate Nikhil Chand Shukla.

The last rites of the jawan would be conducted tomorrow.
Narrating the incident, an officer said, "Bablu Singh was deployed in a forward post in Naugaon Sector of Jammu and Kashmir, located at an altitude of approx 13,000 feet in difficult terrain".
"In the early hours of July 30, while being part of an ambush party on the Line of Control (LOC), he noticed suspicious movement of militants. When challenged, the militants opened fire. Notwithstanding the risks involved, he retaliated with precision fire, killing two militants on the spot," he said.
Bablu, a resident of the Jhandipur village, is survived by his wife and two children.
