Rights groups of Arunachal seeks State Human Rights Commission

The groups in a joint memorandum to Chief Minister Nabam Tuki appealed that there was an urgent need for creation of the State Human Rights Commission and State Commission for Protection of Child Rights in view of the ground situations and realities of crimes, atrocities and violence committed on and suffered by the poor, powerless and marginalised people.

As per the legislations in the constitution for protection of the human rights of the deprived, neglected and violated, all states are to create and establish the respective state bodies which have been already done by many states, they said.

The memorandum was signed by National Alliance of Women (NAWO), Arunachal Pradesh chapter President Jarjum Ete, Arunachal Pradesh Bar Association President Pritam Taffo, Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society Chief Advisor Tadar Yadir, Human Rights Law Network Arunachal chapter
