Rihanna to star in 'Bates Motel'

Singer Rihanna is all set to star in the final season of horror TV series "Bates Motel".
The 28-year-old "A girl like me" hitmaker will be seen playing the role of Marion Crane, Norman Bates' victim and will join the rest of the cast, reported Female First.
The news was announced in the show's comic-con panel in San Diego where it was also revealed that this will be the final instalment of the series.
The production team wanted to cast someone whose imapct would bring more light to the character and they were also aware of the fact that Rihanna is a fan of the show.

"We wanted to thrust the iconic role into a contemporary spotlight and redefine it in a meaningful and exciting new way. We also heard Rihanna was a fan of the show, and we were huge fans of hers, so it was the perfect collision of creativity and fate," executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin said.
"We will be colliding with certain events in the narrative of the film, but it would be boring to just recreate 'Psycho'," added Carlton.
