RINL Apr-Dec sales up 8 per cent to Rs 8,636 crore in 2015

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), has registered 8 per cent growth in sales and 21 per cent rise in saleable steel production during April-December 2015 over the same period last year.
The Navaratna PSU said it achieved best-ever performance in production and sales volume during April-December 2015 despite volatile and difficult market conditions in the country, an official statement said.
On production front, RINL achieved an impressive growth of 21 per cent in saleable steel in the period under review over the corresponding period last year, it added.
The company posted a growth of 8 per cent in sales at Rs 8,636 crore during the nine-month period over April-December 2014, which included export sales of Rs 935 crore.
Sales in December 2015 stood at Rs 1,617 crore on the back of volume of 5 lakh tonnes, the highest since inception for any December, the statement said.
Chairman and Managing Director P Madhusudan, terming 2016 a "very promising year for RINL", expressed hope that the company will achieve all the targets set for the New Year.
He indicated that ramping up production from the new units would be the focus area for RINL and exhorted the employees to work with greater commitment and dedication to scale new heights.
