Rise in day temp brings respite from cold for Delhiites

Delhiites today got some respite from cold as day temperature rose above normal and sun shone bright.
However, Palam area witnessed fog in the morning which brought the visibility down to less than 50 metres.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 24.6 degrees Celsius, which is three notches above normal for this time of the season while the minimum was recorded at 10 deg C, two notches above the season's average, said a MeT Department official.
Palam area witnessed foggy conditions with visibility dropping to less than 50 metres at around 8.30 AM from 200 metres at 5.30 AM. It alter improved to 900 meters at 11.30 AM.
At Safdarjung, the visibility was recorded at 300 metres at 5.30 AM, which improved to 500 metres three hours later and to 1,500 metres at around 11.30 AM, the official said.
Early morning fog disrupted the rail services which led to delay in the schedule of 45 north-bound trains and 20 other being rescheduled.

Humidity oscillated between 100 and 59 per cent.
The MeT office has forecast partly cloudy skies for tomorrow with the likelihood of shallow to moderate fog in the morning.
"The skies will be partly cloudy and there is a possibility of very light rain. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 24 and 11 degrees Celsius respectively tomorrow," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the minimum and maximum temperatures were recorded at 8.4 deg C and 23.8 deg C respectively.
