At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in September moved up by Rs 39, or 0.77 per cent, to Rs 5,120 per quintal with an open interest of 17,420 lots.
On similar lines, the commodity for delivery in October was trading higher by Rs 26, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 5,075 per quintal in 11,940 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by traders following rising demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to the rise in chana prices at futures trade.
