Traders said surging demand from retailers against tight supplies from producing belts kept arhar and other pulses higher.
A depreciating rupee against the dollar, making imports expensive, also supported the uptrend, they said.
In the national capital, arhar and its dal dara variety spurted by another Rs 500 each to Rs 9,400-9,600 and Rs 10,800-10,950 per quintal, respectively on strong demand.
Urad advanced to Rs 8,400-9,000 from previous level of Rs 8400-8,800 per quintal. Its dal chilka local, best quality and dhoya were up by Rs 200 each to Rs 9,400-9,600, Rs 9,600-10,200 and Rs 10,000-10,300 per quintal.

Rajmah chitra enquired higher at Rs 4,700-6,300 against last close of Rs 4,700-5,900 per quintal.
In line with overall trend, gram rose by Rs 200 to Rs 4,850-5,500 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 5,200-5,400 and Rs 5,300-5,600 per quintal, respectively.
Besin Shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted higher at Rs 2,130 instead of Rs 2,100 per 35 bag respectively.
