Rituparna, who essays the role of a a model choreographer in the flick 'Extraordinaari', says "I haven't come across such a character in my career and also in any other films.
"When Sunanda (Sunando) narrated the script, I was really floored by the concept of the glamour world becoming truely inclusive and representative," Rituparna, having turned as the showstopper in celebrated fashion designer Agnimitra Paul's show with differently abled children few months back, said.
While the film has references of Kamatipuram slum, casting couch, as well as the physical abuse, taunts regularly experienced by the girl on street, it is centred on the God-gifted-ability of any woman, be she a village belle or a socialite, to learn the ropes in an unchartered territory, the young Mumbai-based director said.
Actor Shahbaz Khan turns up in an important role in this film, as a politician.
"I think Sunando is a multi-talented person who is equally adept in penning lyrics. From cutting albums sititng in a faraway place using commonphrase terms to highlight our Bengaliness to directing films having the smell and feel of Bengal," Rituparna said about Sunanda, the lyricist in Panchforon and frontman of Mumbai band Liquid.
