Missing for the first time from the Durga puja festivities in his city, which had essentially formed the backdrop of his works, the woman sensitive maker of 'Unishe April' will come alive as the 'Ritu Tarpan' tribute takes place at a mega budget puja pandal on the four days.
"It really seems incredible Rituda has left us behind. Very difficult to get over the sense of loss, the sense of void," poet-lyricist-composer, romanticist Srijato told PTI here.
Srijato, who composed the lyrics of a memorial song brought to live by National Award winner Prashant Samaddar of Fiza fame, had penned a poignant poem about the Chitrangada maker days after Rituparno Ghosh's death in the Sunday issue of a leading vernacular.
"At the "Ritu-Tarpan" in the premises of Naktala Udayan Sangha his hitherto nravelled hand written manuscripts, photographs and film cds, and other works will be on display with the tribute theme music played in the background, the mover behind the initiative, a spokesman of India Green Reality said.
"We all remember his writings about Puja and 'Bangalir Baro Mase Tero Parbon' in Robibar magazine of Protidin. Hard to believe this puja we will be missing Rituda, we will be missing Sunilda (Gangopadhyay). Both more than guardians to me," Srijato said.
The award winning Naktala puja is patronized by heavyweight West Bengal minister Partho Chatterjee.
