The SP did not take any action against perpetrators of harassment to the college girl Kanchan Bala despite the fact that she had met the former thrice demanding action against those people, the Leader of Opposition in the legislative assembly Abdul Bari Siddique told reporters.
Instead of taking punitive action, the police pressurized the girl to make a compromise with those people harassing her that provoked her to take extreme step, he said.
The girl had alleged in the suicide letter that she did not get justice from the SP and "blamed" him for inaction, Siddique said drawing a comparison of this case with the Geetika suicide case in which the former Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda has been arrested on the basis of her suicide letter.
Kanchanbala had committed suicide by hanging herself at her house under Dumra police station area in Sitamarhi district on August 23 last.
