Rly employee alleges gangrape, three co-workers arrested

A middle-aged woman working with Railways today alleged that four co-workers had gangraped her for days together and the GRP Sealdah in a quick action arrested three of them.
The victim, a married woman, had lodged an FIR with Dum Dum GRP yesterday accusing four co-workers of Chitpur railyard in the city of gang raping her on several occasions inside the railyard.
"They have been gangraping me for last few years and when ever I have asked them to stop they have threatened to upload those pics of gangraping me on internet. They had also threatened to kill me," the victim said in her complaint.
The victim who had lost her husband in Gyaneshwari train accident in 2010, got a job in railways as a part of compensation package then.
She alleged that the four tormentors used to molest her and then gangraped her inside a vacant railway compartment garaged in Chitpore railway yard.
Superintendent of Railway police (Sealdah) Utpal Naskar told PTI "Out of the four accused, three have been arrested. We are on a lookout for the fourth accused.

"We won't reveal any further details as investigation is still on," he said adding Dum Dum GRP officer-in-charge Apurba Chakraborty has been closed for departmental inquiry over the victim's allegations of negligence.
Eastern Railway CPRO R N Mahapatra said Railways has ordered a suo moto inquiry into the incident.
State women welfare department sought a report from Dum Dum GRP, under whose jurisdiction the incident took place.
West Bengal Women Welfare Minister Shashi Panja told PTI that she had instructed GRP to look into the case and submit a report of the investigation to her department.
The state women commission has taken a suo moto cognizance of the alleged gangrape, its chairperson Sunanda Goswami said.
"We have taken a suo moto cognizance in this case and have asked Railways department to submit a report about the incident within the next 15 days," Goswami said.
