RMC to showcase city's culture on walls though wall paintings

The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has decided to showcase the city's culture on walls by launching an "open Rajkot wall painting competition" starting from October 2, RMC Commissioner Vijay Nehra said here today.
"Rajkot city has been selected under the union government's smart city project and the RMC has decided to develop the city according to the smart city project's guidelines," RMC Commissioner Vijay Nehra said.
"The competition will begin from October 2, 2015 and conclude on October 31, 2015," the commissioner said.
"As a commissioner of the civic body, I see citizens coming forward to make Rajkot as smart city," he said.
He said that funds would be raised through public-private partnership and if required the corporation would bear the cost.
"Around Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore would be spent during the next three years for the wall painting campaign which will feature social messages," he said.
