Road blockade by Utkal Univ students

Post graduate students of Utkal University took to the streets and staged a road blockade protesting against attacks on them by "non students" and arrest of the culrpits.
Three students of Vabni Vihar, post graduate wing of the university had been seriously injured in a clash over admission to the institute's Gopabandhu hostel last night.
After the clash the students had set on fire three motorbikes and damaged eight others in the campus, police said.
The students called off their road blockade after the police assured them of arresting the culprits by tonight. But the protest led to hundreds of vehicles being stranded on NH 5, which pass through the city.

"We have deployed both strategic and mobile force inside the campus. We have also assured the students to arrest the culprits," said deputy commissioner of police Satyabrata Bhoi.
