The arrested have been identified as Paras Kumar (22), Manish Kumar (25) and B Naraseman (24).
With their arrest, a car, three stolen motor cycles, a laptop, one I-Pod, Rs 28,000 cash and two gold chains have been recovered and eight sases were solved, Chhaya Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), said.
"Paras is the leader of the gang and had earlier been arrested in four cases of theft and snatchings. The gang had stolen as many as 10 motorcycles and committed snatchings in Saket, Malviya Nagar, Safdarjung Enclave, Huaz Khas, Amar Colony, R K Puram, AIIMS and Sarojini Nagar.
"They did not hesitate to grapple with women, if they offered any resistance," Sharma said, adding in one such case, they dragged a woman down from rickshaw and pulled her chain.
"They would pose as school children and put on dresses which resemble school uniform. They would dispose of their stolen articles in Madangir," she said.
After committing crime, she said, they would visit malls along with their girlfriends and watch movies and dine in restaurants.
"They would go for excursion in groups at hill stations and other religious places," she said.
