A Delhi Court today fixed February 28 for recording the statements of four death row convicts in the December 16 gang rape case, who are facing trial for their alleged involvement in a robbery case.
Additional Session Judge Daya Prakash, who was scheduled to start the recording of statements of the accused today fixed it for February 28 as the questions to be asked from the accused were not ready.
During the hearing, advocate A P Singh, appearing for accused Akshay Thakur, moved a plea seeking direction to the Tihar jail authorities to provide TV, newspaper and magazines to his client inside the prison.
Singh alleged other jail inmates were allowed to watch TV and read newspapers and magazines but Akshay was not given any such facility on the ground that he belonged to "naxalite prone area of Bihar".
The court has asked the jail authorities to respond to the plea on February 28.
