A 35-year-old woman was attacked by a Rottweiler dog when she was returning after dropping her daughter to school in south Delhi's RK Puram area.
The incident happened yesterday when Minakshi, a resident of Munirka, was on her way home, a senior police officer said.
The woman told police that as she entered the colony the rottweiler dog came towards her and pounced on her.
She raised an alarm and the dog's owner, Sanjeev Joshi, who was standing at a distance, came to the spot and tried to control the dog, said the officer.
However, the woman told police that the dog couldn't be controlled and after freeing himself from his owner, he attacked the woman again, he said.
Eyewitnesses said they didn't help the woman since they were scared of the dog, who was "quite ferocious", said the officer.
