Challenges and opportunities for entrepreneurs were discussed today at a round table discussion organised here by the U.S. Consulate General in Chennai ahead of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit to be jointly hosted by India and the US next month in Hyderabad.
"Coimbatore is a dynamic city that boasts a longstanding and ongoing commitment to innovation. I am pleased to share ideas with the citys entrepreneurs in advance of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES), Consul for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, US Consulate General, Chennai, Lauren Lovelace said.
Lovelace, who moderated the discussions with the city entrepreneurs in a bid to attract them for the GES, said Coimbatore was a dynamic city that boasts of a longstanding and ongoing commitment to innovation.
"This years GES theme is Women First, Prosperity for All, underscoring the fact that when women succeed, countries succeed," Lovelace said in a release.
Startup founders, women entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders in the city's entrepreneurial ecosystem participated in the round table discussion, which was joined virtually by a delegation from the University of Toledo in Ohio.
The event was part of a slate of programmes planned by the U.S. mission in India leading up to the GES, the pre-eminent annual gathering of emerging entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders from around the world.
The US and India will co-host the 3-day GES 2017 from November 28.
