The authorities of Birsa Munda jail have conducted a routine check in the hospital ward of jailed RJD supremo Lalu Prasad at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIIMS) here, a senior police official said Monday.
The routine check took place on Saturday evening, Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Pandey confirmed.
Prasad, who is serving prison term following his conviction in fodder scam cases, is undergoing treatment at the RIIMS for various ailments.
"It was a routine check and not raids. We did not find anything objectionable during our check," he told PTI.
Asked whether there are any fresh instructions following the routine check, he said those were related to security matters and cannot be disclosed.
Pandey said only three persons can visit an inmate on Saturdays as per the jail manual with the permission of the authorities.
