The University was launched on February 11 in the presence of students and their parents and with the unveiling of its prospectus, a release issued by the Royal Group of Institutions (RGI) said today.
"The University aims to offer nationally and internationally integrated opportunities to create global citizens," RGU Chancellor A K Pansari said.
The region has witnessed a huge exodus of students in pursuit of quality education and employment in other parts of the country and "we had set up RGI in 2009 offering courses in Engineering, Management, Architecture and Commerce," he said.
The University has been set up to achieve academic excellence through innovatively designed, research intensive, industry-oriented education to incorporate community service, it said adding, the University would focus on value-based quality education with a global perspective and groom students in pursuing their profession and passion.
The different schools under the University would include Royal School of Engineering and Technology, School of Business, School of Commerce, School of Architecture, School of Fine Arts, School of Fashion Designing Technology, School of Applied and Pure Sciences, School of Information Technology School of Communications and Media, School of Behavioural and Allied Sciences, School of Languages, School of Performing Arts and School of Law and Administration, the release added.
