Royals relish Garhwali dishes at feast

Prince Charles and his wife Camilla Parker Bowles, in whose honour a lavish feast was organised by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna, relished the Garhwali dishes served to them at the banquet.
The royal couple were offered mouth-watering dishes like Jhangore ki Kheer, Gahath ki Dal and Manduwe Ki Roti and they were all praise for the items on the menu, sources at Hotel Ananda, where the feast was organised last night, said.
"They did not just praise the dishes, but even asked a chef how they were made and with what ingredients," a hotel source said.
The British royals were also interacted with people present in the hotel and asked MLAs representing constituencies affected by the recent calamity how people were coping with the after-effects of the tragedy.
The royal couple began their extensive nine-day India tour with Uttarakhand on November 6.
