A 30-year-old man had a narrow escape today as an alert RPF personnel saved him from going under a train at Parel station here.
The incident happened at about 8.50 am.
Laxman Chandanshive was trying to board a fast local train when it slowed down at Parel, said an official of Railway Protection Force.
Fast trains usually don't stop at Parel.
Laxman, a resident of Dombivli, was carrying a packet of food in his hands, which fell. He slipped on it while trying to jump into the train, and got nearly pulled between the gap between the train and the platform, the official said.
However, an RPF personnel on the platform pulled him back and saved his life.
The entire incident was captured in CCTV cameras installed at the station.
