Three persons, including son of a sitting RPI corporator here, was arrested from Pune in connection with Trimbakeshwar double-murder case of last year, police said today.
Bhooshan Londhe (27), son of sitting RPI corporator Prakash Londhe, Sandeep Gangurde (25) and Akash Mohite (25) were held from Pune on a tip-off last night and were brought here today, Trimbakeshwar Police Station in-charge Mukund Deshmukh told PTI.
The trio were held on charges of murder of two persons on December 31, 2015. The bodies were recovered on Trimbakeshwar- Javhar road two days after the incident.
According to Deshmukh, Bhooshan, a resident of Swarbaba Nagar here, allegedly shot his friends - Nikhil Gavale (31) and Arjun Avhad - over some dispute during the new year party, with the help of two others.
The trio had then disposed the bodies at an isolated place on the road, the officer said.
The bodies were recovered two days after the incident and were recognised as that of Gavale and Avhad with help of their relatives, he said.
During investigation, Bhooshan's involvement surfaced and he has been absconding for last the past seven months.
The accused were produced before a local court today.
