Foreign currencies valued at Rs 1.22 crores have been seized from a passenger at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, a senior Customs official said here Tuesday.
The currency, including U.S Dollars, UAE Dirhams and Saudi Riyals, totally valued at Rs 1.22 crore, was seized from the passenger, who was about to depart for Sharjah yesterday by an Air Arabia flight, Customs Commissioner Sumit Kumar said.
The currency was concealed inside the clothes kept in the hand baggage, he said.
The passenger has been arrested, Kumar added.
