All four passengers had arrived from Abu Dabhi and had concealed the gold in their baggage, they said.
As per the officials, the smuggled yellow metal was in the form of rhodium-plated gold wire, gold biscuits and bars.
The four passengers - Rafatjahan Shaukat Ali, Asif Khan, Mohammad Qasim and Husain Sayed Ahmed - had concealed the items inside their baggage, they said.
"Raw gold items were seized from these passengers under the reasonable belief that the goods were attempted to be smuggled in India and liable for confiscation under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962," said an official.
