Rs 12 lakh seized ahead of Assembly polls

An amount of Rs 12 lakh which was being illegally transported from Bangalore to Mysore in a car, allegedly to woo voters for the May 5 Assembly polls, was seized by police today.
On a tip-off, police intercepted the car at Hejjala check post and seized the cash being transported "without any records or documents," they said.
The driver has been detained and is being questioned, they added.
