Two persons, who suffered injuries in a road mishap three years ago, have been awarded a compensation of Rs 15.76 lakh by a Motor Accident Tribunal (MACT) here.
MACT Presiding Officer Naveen Arora directed Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company Ltd to pay Rs 14,95,500 to Asif Khan and Rs 80,800 to Farman. Both were hit by a truck while they were in a car.
"It is established that Asif Khan and Farman sustained injuries in a road accident on December 19, 2013 at about 12.50 AM at a ring road flyover in south Delhi due to rash and negligent driving of vehicle by respondent number 1 (driver)," the tribunal said.
In its order, the tribunal noted that while Asif sustained 31 per cent permanent disability in his right upper limb, Farman received simple injury.
According to the complainant, both the victims sustained injuries in the road accident on December 19, 2013 at the Raj Nagar flyover due to rash and negligent driving of the truck driver.
