Seven hawala traders have been arrested in four different raids during the day for carrying this amount without any valid document, OSD-in-charge of Expenditure in the CEO's office, Amit Roy Chowdhury said here.
With this, the IT department has seized altogether Rs 2.24 crore unaccounted money so far, he said.
"The IT department will issue rewards for each tip off for any unaccounted money flow during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the state," Roy Chowdhury said.
Roy Chowdhury further said the IT department has already opened a control room at Aaykar Bhavan in the city and has published a toll-free number 18003455058 inviting information from people about movement of unaccounted money.
