Rs 2.65 cr wealth unearthed from two co-op societies officers

Lokayukta police today raided the residential and official premises of two cooperative societies department officers in adjoining Raisen district and unearthed unaccounted wealth worth Rs 2.65 crore.
Assistant manager of co-operative society, Begamganj, Ramkisan Vishwakarma's residence and office were raided and movable and immovable properties disproportionate to his known source of income amounting to Rs 1.50 crore was unearthed, Lokayukta Deputy Superintendent of Police Vinod Sharma said.
His income from known sources in his service so far was just Rs 35 lakh, he added.
Lokayukta police also raided the places of manager of cooperative society, Obaidullganj, Vinod Yadav and uncovered immovable and immovable properties worth over Rs 1.15 crore accumulated by him disproportionate to his known sources of income, Lokayukta DSP Navin Awasthi said.
Vishwakarma and Yadav have been booked under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigations are on, Bhopal Lokayukta Police Superintendent Birendra Singh, told PTI.
