Rs 2 crore worth gold jewellery seized from Lankan nationals

Ten kg of gold jewellery valued at about Rs two crore has been seized and five Sri Lankan nationals were detained at the airport here for allegedly possessing them without valid papers.
The seizure was made by officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence last night when they searched the baggage of the five Lankan nationals, who arrived by a Spicejet flight from New Delhi, on a tip-off, airport sources said.
The passengers identified as Mohammed Sabhi, Neela Verma, Mohammed Ismail, Devendran and Mohammed Nizam were being interrogated by the DRI officials, they said today.
The jewellery was kept concealed in the suitcases of the five passengers, they said.
